I was 50 years old when I started my makeup business in the Philadelphia area in 2008. I already had years of wedding work in New York City behind me, a sideline that sustained me as I completed my education.

By that time I had noticed a difference in how I was applying my own makeup, because of my maturing skin. I also became hyper-aware of how my clients were feeling, that is, at a complete loss for how to purchase and use products easily and effectively. I started doing private makeup lessons, and my signature “Makeup for Mature Women (tm) Workshop was born.

Women are justifiably frustrated. The beauty industry has made shopping for makeup utterly overwhelming. And trust me, women weren’t born knowing what to do with makeup - that’s marketing.
